I have a real passion for computer arts theses are a few pieces of my work from my foundation course last year. i wanted to show theses to give a good idea of my interests.
These images were developted for my final major project they were all about how people in a western world treat life like a dance waving around the truth not really caring when people are suffering in the world.
White Board Induction
This was our first lesson work, we were set a task to make our own stop motion animation video using a white board the aim was to get the box to the other side of the board. I enjoyed creating the mini films as it meant we could be as imaginative as we liked. If id of had more time i probably would of made me clips to help the piece to flow better at high speed. each second contained 12 images which meant they were very time consuming, but still an interesting task.
Sony Advert
I chose the publish this advert by Sony onto my blog as its good a example of stop motion video. and it gives me inspiration to develop new idea's i like the way this was made so surreal, and its almost like its bringing nature and colour back to the dull and unimaginative city :)

week1 this week we did a few different task, one task was learning about how a camera captures an image in the simplest form, to do this we made our own camera, using a 440ml beer can, some black masking tape, black sellotape and some thick black card.
-we started by cutting the top of the can off with a can opener. (making sure the can was completely dry! of the photo paper would be damaged)
-then we filed down the sharp edges to prevent injury as later we had to be able to up our hand in and out of the can in the darkroom.
-then we made a lid for the can out of card, by placing the card over the can and cutting the edges to the shape of the can.
-the edges were taped into place using black masking tape (the tape had to be this black masking tape to stop any light getting into the can or it would not work!)
-then a pin hole was made in the can. putting black tape over the hole helped to indicate were we had placed the pin hole and kept the light out. (we had to be able to find the pin hole whilst in the dark room)
-once the camera was ready we went into the dark room and inserted the photo sensitive paper into the can making sure the gap was were the pin hole was. (shiny side on the inside)
-the lid was then replaced and we took the can outside to take the photograph. we held our thumbs over the pin holes to prevent any light from getting in.
-once we had decided were to take our photograph (some where with a lot of light is best as there is no flash, so the camera may not work indoors very well.) i sat my camera on a still bench and removed the tape covering the pin hole I let it stand for eight seconds.
-then i had to recover the hole and take it straight to the dark room and removed the paper and put it first into the developer. until the picture was develop properly, then into the stop bath to fix the image, then the photograph went into the wash for 5Min's.
The photo comes out in an inverted image so when its put into a computer it gives you something very interesting.

This was the image that I developt from my pin hole camera I was pleased with my image as it came out quite well in the consideration its not something iv tryed to do before now. because of the way the paper was folded it gave a really interesting curved affect on the pavment this normally would have been stright lines but because the paper is folded. An advantage of pin hole photographs its the whole image is in focus unlike digital images where only one section of the image is in focus. I would like to go on to develop this more by seeing what other effects would come out when something entirerly diffrent is photographed...

day 1 freshers week!
6/10/2009 MULITIMEDIA! day1
just moved in and excited to see what the year has to bring! interested to see how the course will develop my knowledge of computers, and all the different medias involved.
